Beginner Plus Dressmaking Course
A brand new stepping stone between our beginner and improver courses. Learn how to use a commercial pattern to make your own garment. We cover sizing, pattern markings, fitting, cutting out, sewing fastenings, and finishing.
The garment will be a sleeveless fitted dress, giving you the chance to learn fitting the bust, shaped seams, facings and zip. There is an option of adding pockets for those that feel confident to try this step.
Cost: £210 - 7 x 2 hour classes, suitable for those who have made a garment before, or been on our beginner dressmaking course.

*this discounted private tuition price only applies when booking/booked on to the full course.
Fabrics:
You will need to purchase fabric, along with a matching zip, thread and interfacing, for your garment in advance of lesson 2. We will let you know yardages and suitable fabric choices once you have booked via our welcome letter.
Sewing machines and equipment:
You will need your own sewing machine for this course.
If you have an overlocker (that you can already use) you are welcome to bring this to use for edging your garment. If not we will be zig zagging edges. Unfortunately we don’t have time to teach you how to use your overlocker during this course - but you could also book over overlocker lesson zero as you won’t need to use it until at least lesson 3 - click here to view the class.
We will supply a list of the equipment you need in your welcome letter once booked.
